Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa (probably 8 March 1566 – 8 September 1613) was Prince of Venosa and Count of Conza. The best known fact of his life is his brutal and violent killing of his first wife and her aristocratic lover upon finding them in flagrante delicto. The fascination for his music and for his crimes have gone hand in hand.
Arranged for string quartet. Inspired by the Pentatonix version. The last verse has melody in VII that may be challenging for beginner players and can be switched around with the VI part if desired. A mashup of Ave Maria and Perfect for string quartet. When I heard Perfect, my first thought was that it is the same song as Ave Maria. This is me testing that hypothesis in the key of C because Beyoncé :) Also with some gestures from the original Schubert thrown in because he deserved better.
